Alternatively, leverage Windows’ built-in backup and file history features to secure your hard disk or folders. Detailed steps for these Windows backup methods are available here. Mac users can easily back up files using “Time Machine,” with a guide to its process here.
2. Turn on the automatic save function when using PDF editing software
To minimize the risk of data loss, it’s advisable to activate the auto-save feature in PDF editing software. For instance, in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, go to Edit > Preferences, select Documents on the sidebar, and within Save Settings, enable ‘Automatically save document changes to a temporary file‘ by checking the box. Then, adjust the auto-save time interval to your preference; a shorter interval means more frequent saves.
