It is common for us to encounter the following situation: the video we want to keep in local disk can play on line. You may want to know how to get online videos and even cut the videos to save the desire clips.
Generally, we will just save the contents shown on the computer screen as screenshots if we need it. However, we can record a video of computer screen with build-in tools in computer or third party software.

Method 1: Built-in Screen Recording Tool in Windows 10
Built-in screen recorder in Windows 10 is one of functions in pre-installed Xbox. It is easy to use and free.
Step 1: Launch the software you want to record. And please press Win + G button with the software window on.
Step 2: Click the “Settings” icon.
Step 3: Set the following configuration in Game DVR: Record time, Recorded audio, Audio Quality, etc.
Step 4: The top of the windows will show the target place to save the screenshots and video clips. If you want to change another target folder to save these files, please move the “Captures” folder to any place you want in the PC. Then Windows will update the path of the target folder automatically.
Step 5: Please click “●” to start the record and click “■” to stop. After finish, the video clips will be saved in the target folder automatically.
If you want to zoom in and out the video when recording or add watermark to video, please refer to method 2.
Method 2: Record with Renee Video Editor
Recording screen with Windows 10 built-in tools is easy, but it does not support to record webcam or add watermark to videos. If you want to get more functions when create your computer screen video, Screen Recorder function in Renee Video Editor Pro could be a better choice.
Step 1: Before process the recording, please click “Settings” on the bottom-right corner. Then please set the format, quality, resolution, FPS and target folder to save the files according to your needs.
Step 2: After setting, please go through the following steps after returning to the main interface of Screen Recorder. ① Select “User-Defined” in “Target” item ② Select “Computer Sound” in “Audio” item ③ Select target place you want to save the recorded videos.
Step 3: Launch the software you want to record and click “Record” in Screen Recorder.
Step 4: Set the area you want to record and click “Record”.
After recording finished, the video will be saved in the target folder. If you think the video is too long and want to cut or add some effects or filter, it is recommended to try Video Toolbox in Renee Video Editor Pro.
How to Edit Video with Video Toolbox in Renee Video Editor Pro
1. You can cut video clip with “Cut” function. Please set the start and end time of the clip you want.
2. Rotate and Crop function can rotate or crop the video frame.
3. Effect function provides filters, zoom in and out and audio effect.
4. Watermark function can help you add or remove watermark.
5. You can also add funny background music to the video with “Music” function.
6. Subtitle function can add some words or voice over to your video.
