How to Cut Videos with Windows Movie Maker

Part 1: What is Windows Movie Maker?

As a video editor, Windows Movie Maker is suitable for light video editing, such as cutting and segmenting, adding background music and video theme and sharing online.

But Window Movie Maker doesn’t support various formats. You may need to convert formats before your editing.

Part 2: How to Cut Videos with Windows Movie Maker?

1. Open Windows Movie Maker and add the target video files. Then, go to the tab [Edit].

2. Drag the progress bar to select the target clip, and then press the button [Split]. The cut result will be shown at the left side.

You have to repeat this steps several times because the software cannot locate at the specific start and end points.

3. Click [Save Movie File] to save it to [This PC]. After that, click [Next] to set the file name and the output folder.

It is recommended that the video quality be [Best quality for playback on my computer]. If you want to define another definition, click the option [Show fewer choices] for more parameters.
