recover data from formatted hard drive

I. What is hard disk formatting?

Hard disk formatting is divided into high-level formatting and low-level formatting. Formatting the hard disk through the operating system is an advanced format, also known as logical formatting. It is an operation process that prepares for data storage by deleting all data on the partition and resetting the file system for the drive. The whole process includes clearing data on the hard disk, generating boot area information, initializing the FAT table, and marking logical bad sectors. Therefore, after formatting the hard disk, all file data on the storage hard disk will disappear, and the files cannot be restored through the “recycle bin” in the system.
Low-level formatting (Low-Leve, l Formatting), also known as low-level formatting or physical formatting, is a work before advanced formatting. It can only be done in the DOS environment. The hard disk has been low-level formatted by the hard disk manufacturer before it is sold. Therefore, hard disk users generally do not need to perform low-level formatting operations, unless there are special circumstances, such as too many bad sectors on the hard disk that cause errors when accessing data or the operating system cannot be used.low level formatting up.
Hard disks can be formatted into various file systems in different operating systems, such as NTFS, FAT32, exFAT, EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, HFS, and APFS. However, it should be noted that during the formatting process, all files and folders on the disk will be deleted. If you do not have a backup of your hard drive files, you may be at risk of data loss.
If you accidentally format the hard disk, we can also try to retrieve the lost data through professional data recovery software. We recommend you to use Renee Undeleter , which supports both Windows and Mac systems, and is easy and effective to operate.
