We’ve all been there, struggling to remember those pesky passwords that seem to elude us at the most inconvenient times. But don’t worry, there’s a solution. In this upcoming chapter, we will guide you through the first step of using Renee PassNow to reset your administrator password if you don’t have access to it. This is a crucial step as the remaining steps will require the use of the administrator account. So, let’s dive in and get you back into your Microsoft account in no time!

Use Windows installation disk to remove system login configure folder

Now, we need to use the Windows Recovery Environment to make changes to our system files. Follow the instructions:
Step 1: Insert your Windows installation disk or USB drive and boot your computer from it. Press any key when prompted to continue.

Step 2: Choose your language, time and currency format, and keyboard or input method. Click “Next” to continue.

Step 3: Click on “Repair your computer” at the bottom left corner of the first installation screen.

Step 4: Select the operating system you want to repair, usually “Windows 10”, and click “Next”.
Step 5: Click on “Troubleshoot” in the next screen.
Step 6: Click on “Command Prompt” in the “Advanced options“.
Please enter your account password to continue.
Tips:If you have forgotten your password, please refer to “How to remove Account password with Renee PassNow”.
Note: your account must have Administrator Permissions. If not, please select to use Administrator account instead.

Step 7: In the command prompt, type

rmdir /s /q C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC\*

and press Enter. This will delete the original login options.
Step 8: Remove your Windows Installation Disk and type the following command in the command prompt,

shutdown -r -t 5

and press Enter. This command will reboot your computer in 5 seconds.
When you reboot your Windows, the password login option will reappear.

How to remove Account password with Renee PassNow

If you have forgotten your Account password and do not have access to the administrator account, there is still a way to reset the password and gain access to your account. This can be done using a powerful password reset tool called Renee PassNow.

Step 2: Create a Bootable USB or CD/DVD
Launch Renee PassNow and insert a USB flash drive or blank CD/DVD into the computer. Select the option to create a bootable media. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Step 3: Boot the Locked Server from the Bootable Media
Insert the bootable USB or CD/DVD into the locked Windows computer. Restart the computer and enter the BIOS settings by pressing the appropriate key (usually F2 or Delete). Configure the boot order to prioritize the bootable media.

Boot the target PC with the created password reset USB/CD/DVD.
Step 4: Select password reset function
After successfully booting from the bootable media, Renee PassNow will load. Select “PassNow!” function after booting from the new created Windows password reset disk.
After loading into main interface, please select the “PassNow!” function.
Step 5: Resetting the Password
Choose the user account for which you want to reset the password. Then, click on the “Clear Password” button. Renee PassNow will remove or reset the password for the selected user account.

Step 6: Reboot the PC
Once the password is reset, remove the bootable media from the PC and restart the computer. You will now be able to log in to Windows Account without a password.
