2. Use the system's built-in backup function to back up files

Step 1: Run the Windows 10 computer, click (Start)-(Settings) in the lower left corner, or directly use the shortcut key (Windows+I).
Step 2: Go to the (Update & security) option.

Step 3: After that, select (Backup) in the function list on the left, and you can see the “Back up using file history” column on the right, enable the (Automatically backup my files) function, and then click (More options).
Note: In some versions of Windows 10, the area displays “Add Drive,” which can be clicked for subsequent settings. It is recommended to back up files to an external hard drive to prevent data loss due to system or internal hard drive failure.

Step 4: In the backup options interface, choose the time interval for backing up files and the retention period for backup files. For example, selecting a 3-hour backup interval and a 1-month retention period means files older than one month will be automatically deleted, saving hard disk space. Under “Backup these folders,” view the current folders being backed up, and click Add a folder to add more.
