How to Add Users in Windows 10?

Solution #2: Create Local User Account in Windows 10 Including Non-administrator and Administrator Account

① Press “Windows logo + I” key to open “Windows settings ” and then click “Accounts”.
② In the pop up window, click “Family & other users”. And then click “Add someone else to this PC”.
③ Please click “I don’t have this person’s sign-in information” and then click on “Add a user without Microsoft account”. Finally, type the required information and click “Next”.

Tips: if you want to change this local user account to be an administrator, please move on to next step.

④ Click the new created user account and then click on “Change account type”. Select “Administrator” from the drop-down menu and then click on “OK”.

Step 5: Create a new administrator to quickly access your PC. Please click “Create new account”.

The created administrator account named “Reneelab” with administrator rights, and its default password is “123456789”. You are able to change the password of target account with this new created administrator.

Solution #4: Use The Command Prompt to Add Local User in Windows 10

① Download and install Windows 10 Media Creation Tool and then create a Win 10 bootable media to boot your PC.
② Click the “Repair your computer” link on the Install Windows screen.
③ Click the “Command prompt” at the bottom of the recovery list, and then type in: copy c:\windows\system32\sethc.exe c:\ and press “Enter” key. And type in: copy /y c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe c:\windows\system32\sethc.exe and press “Enter” key.

④ Exit the Command prompt and reboot the computer.
⑤ After rebooting the computer, please tap “Shift” key five times at the login screen to trigger the Command prompt.
⑥ When the Command prompt pops up, type in: net user username password /add and then press “Enter” key. (Username and password refer to your username and a new password.)

⑦ Reboot your PC after the new user is successfully created.
