Summary
COVID19 affects people’s life globally in 2020. People work at home and have online studying, which stimulates our computer requirements. Will the SSD price increase? Will you be affected by the SSD price? Let’s learn more about SSD price in this essay.

why ssd prices increases

Part 1: About 2021 SSD Price

In January, the SSD price soared rapidly from 5% to 10%. This phenomenon was caused by several factors. On the one hand, the memory chip used for cache has insufficient production capacity. On the other hand, the silicon foundries slow down the production of 55nm and 40nm semiconductors, which greatly affects the market supply. Plus, the increasing PCB (printed circuit board) and the capsulation cost push rise in SSD price.
For the SSD suppliers, new opportunities go along with new challenges as the SSD prices increases continuously. This tendency urges them to improve SSD production and develop new products. Meanwhile, the SSD market will be more competitive, and the SSD suppliers should try every means to stand out in the market.
SSD has many advantages in properties, such as fast read-write speed, well shock resistance, small size and less noise. How can we select a cost-effective SSD? The followings are the comparison between the hot SSDs.

Note: The NGFF interface is also known as the M.2 interface. SATA 6GB/s is the third generation of SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) and “6GB/s” is the maximum data transmission speed supported by the SATA version.
SATA SSD and M.2 SSD are the main SSD types now. You should check the mainboard-supported interface when selecting a suitable SSD. The M.2 interface is supported by many new mainboards, and the SATA3.0 interface is usually used in the SSD with the old specification.

Therefore, if the mainboard merely supports the SATA 3.0 interface, the SATA SSD is your only choice. If the mainboard supports the M.2 NVMMe interface, you can pay for the more expensive M.2 SSD to get faster read-write speed, compared with the SATA SSD.

After selecting a new SSD, we should back up the old SSD and replace it with the new one. We suggest that you use Renee Becca to back up the SSD data and transfer to the new one. The followings are more details.

Part 2: How to Transfer SSD Data?

To speed up system performance, we can transfer the whole system to the new SSD. Next, we will show you how to do.

1. What is Renee Becca?

Renee Becca is the tool specializing in system and hard disk back up. It is used to back up and restore the computer data, including programs, system configuration, emails, photos, videos, documents and bookmarks. With the incremental/differential backup technology, it can back up system, partitions, disks and files, but also it can redeploy system and clone disks.
